From stitching the first lines of custom-fitted packs, to meticulously designing innovative products with intuitive features, to forging personal relationships with the sewing operators who construct the packs, Mike has been the unbreakable thread of the company.

The new Osprey Hydraulics reservoirs up the performance ante with new features to improve handling, reduce weight and simplify operation. The wide-mouth top opening simplifies filling and cleaning. It folds closed and is secured with a patented slider that creates a strong, leak-proof seal. Osprey's unique PourShield feature makes filling and pouring a snap, while the welded TPU handle makes it a one-handed operation. To top it all off, the new design reduces weight by 20% to 30%.

Osprey’s Hydraulics Reservoir by Hydrapak is ideal for large volume packs and long duration activities. The HydroStatic backerplate provides structure for easy loading into a full pack and maintains a flat profile. Thoughtful design makes filling, cleaning and most importantly staying hydrated on the trail easier than ever. All parts are BPA-free, phthalate-free, lead-free, guaranteed. All materials are certified food safe according to FDA and EU regulations.

Since Osprey was founded in 1974, every product design has passed through the hands of owner and founder Mike Pfotenhauer, who created his first backpack at the age of 16. In Santa Cruz, California, the young entrepreneur opened a retail store in front of his rental house, where backpackers and travelers came to purchase custom-made, custom-made bags that took days to build. As demand for beautiful sets increased, Osprey found himself moving to his hometown in southwest Colorado. Today, Osprey is a melting pot of diverse personalities, backgrounds, and abilities. All share the common belief that adventure is open to everyone and can be found anywhere.
